Covered Spuds
When I arrived at the stall, the owner was watching a video on his phone and didn't realise I was there until after a few minutes. He didn't seem too pleased that I had interrupted his viewing time.
I ordered the rustic sausage potato. It was reasonably priced, at £8.00, with an additional 10% discount for students. The potato itself was large, and I watched him add salt, butter, and cheese before adding my choice of topping on. The rustic sausage mix was a combination of smoked sausage, peppers, onions, and tomato paste. For the size of the potato, I felt that there was not much topping, but I get the suspicion that very little of the rustic sausage mixture had been made because he was scraping the spoon at the bottom of the container.
The potato was creamy and buttery and most importantly, hot, which was incredibly pleasant on a rainy and cold day. The topping was fine, if somewhat bland. I would return for the potato on its own or with beans and cheese, but I likely would not have the rustic sausage mixture again.
Another thing to note is that there are several images of the options available plastered around the stall. Some of these are real images, but the ones with captions are AI generated. They are all uniform and have that same filtered look which AI images tend to have.
